The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage tries to clinch up but Mamba circles away and keeps his distance.
Macho Man Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch lands to the side of Savage 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Savage has closed the distance and engaged Mamba in a clinch.

Savage isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mamba stacks Savage on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mamba!

Mamba looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Savage dives in and grabs Mamba's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mamba pushes down on Savage's head and hops out.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A slapping leg kick lands for Mamba.
Savage takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Savage takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Savage tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mamba manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Savage tries to close the distance and clinch but Mamba swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A nice leg kick from Mamba, right into the meat of the thigh.
Savage misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mamba takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Mamba throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Savage on the side of the head.

Mamba lands with a nice combination. Savage backs away looking to recover.
Mamba fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Savage.

Savage takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
