Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emanuel Rodrigez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cajetan Shashi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shashi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rodrigez!

Rodrigez throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rodrigez is defended easily by Shashi.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rodrigez.

Shashi sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Rodrigez to the ground! Shashi dives into full mount looking to finish!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Shashi wants to finish this one by submission but Rodrigez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Shashi.

Shashi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Rodrigez has worked his arm free - good work by Rodrigez!

Shashi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Shashi is trying to get an arm triangle but Rodrigez is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodrigez is trying to get back to half guard.

Shashi decides to stand back up.

Shashi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rodrigez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Shashi wants to control from the top but Rodrigez keeps moving.

Shashi tries to free his leg and advance position but Rodrigez is retaining full guard.

Shashi stands up from Rodrigez's guard - Shashi perhaps looking for a knockout.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rodrigez.
Rodrigez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Shashi shoots in and drives through. Rodrigez sprawls well.

Shashi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rodrigez is aware though and is defending well.
Rodrigez is stalling in the full guard.

Rodrigez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cajetan Shashi dominated that round.
That's time! Rodrigez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shashi dives in for a single leg takedown but Rodrigez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Rodrigez looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Shashi closes the distance and clinches.
Rodrigez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Shashi is keeping busy.
Shashi works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Shashi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cajetan Shashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shashi misses with a few strikes there.
Rodrigez has a takedown stuffed.
Shashi throws a counter combo.

Shashi gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rodrigez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Shashi regains guard immediately.

Rodrigez lands a couple of elbows.
Rodrigez postures up and lands a big shot to Shashi's brow.

Shashi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shashi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Shashi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rodrigez is refusing to be controlled, as Shashi sits in half guard.
Rodrigez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rodrigez.

Rodrigez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Shashi throws a big right hand that misses.
Shashi looking to sit in guard and control but Rodrigez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Shashi has his foot on Rodrigez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rodrigez works his way back into a safe position though.
Rodrigez is working Shashi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Emanuel Rodrigez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rodrigez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Shashi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rodrigez defends well.

Cajetan Shashi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Shashi has clasped his hands together around Rodrigez's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Rodrigez wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Shashi seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Rodrigez is tapping! Wow, great finish!
