PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Lava (ranked 6214 p4p, 4738 weight class) and Pedro Paulo (ranked 242 p4p, 211 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Pedro Paulo was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Paulo!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paulo forces Lava back against the cage and clinches.
Paulo misses with some punches.
Lava blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Lava avoiding damage.
Paulo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Paulo.

Lava manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Paulo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Lava had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Paulo defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lava has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Paulo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Paulo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Paulo has eaten all the pies!

Paulo is nestled in close to Lava, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Paulo lands a nice short elbow.

Let's hope that Paulo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Paulo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
