Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darth Song (ranked 3947 p4p, 5289 weight class) and Gabriel Marques (ranked 461 p4p, 543 weight class). The key to victory for Darth Song has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Darth Song!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Marques!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marques rushes Song and presses him up against the cage.

Marques has hold of one of Song's legs. Song is fighting the takedown attempt but Marques gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Marques trying to control the position from guard on top but Song is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marques throws a big right hand that misses.
Marques content to stall in guard here.
Marques postures up in Song's guard and throws a big left but Song blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marques gets to his feet - Song follows without any prompting.
Song misses with a straight left.
Marques fails with a takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marques ducks under a wild hook from Song.
Marques is trying hard to land a takedown here. Song sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Song swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Song looks to throw the jab but Marques is out of range.
Marques changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Song misses the jab.
A left lands for Song.
Marques tries to clinch but Song moves out of range.
Song looks to land a left hand but Marques moved out of range nicely.
Marques misses with a body shot.

Marques shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Song's guard.
Marques pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Song is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Song has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Song definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Marques lands a couple of elbows.
Marques pushes down on Song's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marques takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Marques gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Marques closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Marques lands in his opponent's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marques postures up in Song's guard and throws a big left but Song blocks it.

Marques drops back looking for a leg! Song is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Song manages to kick Marques off! Marques jumps back into Song's guard.
Marques wants to control from the top but Song keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Marques's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Song is pulling down on Marques's head. It's preventing any offense from Marques, at least for the moment.
Marques trying to control but Song is working from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Marques drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel Marques dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Song bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Marques's head.

Marques is rocked!
Marques fails with an attempt to clinch.

Marques shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marques showed some decent athleticism there.

Marques is looking for a kimura here.
Ground and pound from Marques.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marques stands up and beckons Song to join him on the feet.
Song cracks Marques with an open hand slap.
Marques is still on wobbly legs! Can Song finish him?
Marques is holding his hands too far apart here. Song throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Marques is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Darth Song!
Darth Song bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
