Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rob Lock (ranked 4872 p4p, 6119 weight class) and Engin Ismail (ranked 540 p4p, 608 weight class). Ismail has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob Lock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Engin Ismail!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ismail looks to land a combination. Lock sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Lock scores with a takedown into Ismail's guard.
Lock working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ismail's head.
Lock postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Lock trying to control the position from guard on top but Ismail is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lock knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ismail on the ground.
Lock trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Lock looking to sit in guard and control but Ismail gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ismail decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lock to his feet.
Lock has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ismail.

Lock shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ismail napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lock cracks Ismail with a big right hand but Ismail just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Lock is trying to ground and pound but Ismail uses the momentary lack of control by Lock to regain half guard.

Lock is looking to stall here but Ismail recovers full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ismail is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Ismail wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lock is trying to pull guard but Ismail has him pressed against the cage.

Lock goes for a takedown attempt but Ismail pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Ismail gets caught flat footed, as Lock shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lock postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lock is looking to work some ground and pound but Ismail has wrist control.

Lock shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lock was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ismail with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Lock seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ismail does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lock connects with a nice short shot to Ismail's temple.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Lock throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ismail tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lock is in Ismail's guard.
Ismail can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lock controls the pace.

Lock postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Ismail out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Lock goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rob Lock!
In defeat, Engin Ismail stepped up to the mic, saying 'Im really dissapointed with myself. I know i can do better.'.
