Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Grayson (ranked 1979 p4p, 3253 weight class) and Nelson Quinteros (ranked 0 p4p, 131 weight class). Quinteros has chosen Secrets as his entrance music. Nelson Quinteros is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Grayson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nelson Quinteros!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grayson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Quinteros tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grayson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Quinteros somewhat.
Quinteros throws a body shot but no joy.
Quinteros shoots for a double leg takedown but Grayson sprawls well. He's pushed Quinteros's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Grayson throws a big counter combination but Quinteros scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Grayson clinches.
Grayson content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Grayson lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Grayson looks to throw an elbow but misses.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Grayson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Quinteros's brow.
Quinteros changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Grayson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jason Grayson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nelson Quinteros.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Quinteros tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Grayson defends well and Quinteros ends up having to push Grayson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Quinteros tries to close the distance and clinch up but Grayson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Grayson is looking to counter with head kicks.
Grayson scores with a jab to the head.
A nice inside leg kick there by Grayson. That's going to slow Quinteros down.
Quinteros shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Grayson as he jumps to the side.

Grayson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Grayson manages to break the clinch.
Grayson lands a head kick. Quinteros smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Quinteros fails in his attempt to clinch.
Grayson feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Quinteros takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Quinteros takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Grayson.
Grayson looks to land a body kick but Quinteros moved away.
Grayson throws a leg kick but Quinteros moved away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grayson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Quinteros.
Quinteros looks winded!
Grayson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Grayson tries to work over Quinteros's front leg with a kick but Quinteros checks it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Grayson.
Jason Grayson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Grayson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Grayson pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Quinteros avoids a wild elbow strike from Grayson.

Quinteros breaks the clinch.
Quinteros shoots in for a double leg but Grayson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Grayson throws a head kick that Quinteros semi-blocks.
Quinteros looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Grayson takes the fight into the clinch.
Quinteros tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Grayson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Grayson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Grayson throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Quinteros has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Grayson uses from the top position.

Quinteros looking to hit a scissor sweep but Grayson is one step ahead there.
Grayson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Grayson works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Quinteros is looking for a sweep. Grayson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Grayson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Quinteros is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Grayson.
Quinteros takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Grayson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Quinteros is still on wobbly legs! Can Grayson finish him?
Grayson throws a quick inside leg kick.
Grayson fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Quinteros to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Quinteros looks to clinch but Grayson throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Quinteros taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
