Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jairzinho Teixeira (ranked 1757 p4p, 1829 weight class) and Gary Porter (ranked 196 p4p, 207 weight class). Teixeira comes to the cage accompanied by The Eye of the Tiger. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jairzinho Teixeira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Porter!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porter has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Porter there as he acknowledges the shot.
It looks like Gary Porter has been cut.
Porter darts in looking for a takedown but Teixeira gets double underhooks and turns Porter into the cage.
Teixeira is looking to counter with a body kick.
Porter dives in for a single leg takedown but Teixeira sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Porter moves away from the strike by Teixeira.
Teixeira connects with a body shot that sends Porter's belly button to the back.
Teixeira tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Porter was well out of range. Poor timing from Teixeira.
Teixeira looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Teixeira throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Teixeira misses with a wild body shot.
Porter tries for a takedown but Teixeira circles away easily
letting Teixeira counter with a right hand.
Jairzinho Teixeira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Porter.
Porter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Teixeira tries to avoid it but Porter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Teixeira to the ground. Teixeira escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Teixeira throws a looping overhand right but Porter ducks down to avoid it.
Porter doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Porter gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Teixeira.
Decent striking displayed by Teixeira there.
That has opened up Gary Porter's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Porter has his takedown stuffed
and Teixeira counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Porter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Teixeira defends it nicely.

Teixeira throws a jab but it's blocked by Porter.
Teixeira lands with an uppercut that bounces Porter off the cage and back into range.
Porter slips a straight right by Teixeira.

Porter is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Teixeira throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Porter looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Teixeira throws a hook but Porter avoids it easily.
Porter takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Teixeira is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Porter avoids the body shot from Teixeira.
Teixeira throws a body shot but no joy.
Porter scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Porter slips a nice elbow through Teixeira's hands, connecting with Teixeira's forehead.

Teixeira pushes Porter off looking to stand but Porter dives back in and keeps control.
Porter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Jeez, Jairzinho Teixeira's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jairzinho Teixeira's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
