Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Coyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emir Dervisevic! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Coyle decides to pull guard. Coyle is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Coyle keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Coyle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Coyle not doing much here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coyle decides to stand and escape the position. Coyle takes one on the button.
It looks like Chris Coyle has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dervisevic tries a head kick but it misses.
Coyle shoots for a takedown but Dervisevic saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Dervisevic tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Coyle is able to avoid easily. Coyle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Dervisevic is looking for a sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dervisevic trying his best to control but Coyle has mounted him. Coyle sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dervisevic is looking to improve his position but Coyle isn't that keen on the idea. Coyle unloading with bombs! Coyle looking to finish Dervisevic with some ground and pound. This is bad for Dervisevic! Coyle stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Coyle has managed to clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action! Coyle manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Coyle looking for a sweep. Not yet Coyle, not yet. Coyle trying to control the position here. Coyle will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coyle has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coyle wants to stand and escape but Dervisevic is having none of it. Coyle lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Dervisevic trying to keep a closed guard but Coyle is proving a slippery customer.
Dervisevic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Coyle landing some decent shots from guard. Coyle engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Coyle has closed the distance and engaged Dervisevic in a clinch.
Coyle is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dervisevic can't fight it off and eventually Coyle manages to take the fight to the floor. Dervisevic looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Dervisevic wants to sweep but no luck. Coyle content to stall in guard here. Coyle won't allow Dervisevic to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coyle landing some decent shots from guard. Coyle decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dervisevic, up you get!
That's one minute gone in the round. Coyle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dervisevic tries to avoid it but Coyle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dervisevic to the ground. Dervisevic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Coyle rushes Dervisevic and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Coyle jumps into guard, dragging Dervisevic to the mat.
Dervisevic wants to control from the top but Coyle keeps moving. Coyle throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Dervisevic won't allow Coyle to get back to his feet. Dervisevic is fighting to break Coyle's control of his arms but Coyle is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Dervisevic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coyle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dervisevic trying to control the position from guard on top but Coyle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dervisevic working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Coyle keeping full guard, as Dervisevic tries to pass.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Coyle fails with a takedown attempt. Dervisevic throws out a counter right but Coyle avoids it with no problem. Coyle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Coyle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Coyle tries for a takedown but Dervisevic circles away easily and Dervisevic counters with a left to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coyle swats away the attempt to clinch by Dervisevic. Coyle walks into a left hand. Dervisevic throws a nice looking combination but Coyle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Coyle is looking for a counter combo. Coyle doesn't manage to clinch there - Dervisevic circles away.
Dervisevic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Coyle paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dervisevic plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Coyle swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Coyle face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
