The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali Al Ghanim gets caught napping as Ried dives in and scores a takedown. Ali Al Ghanim manages to retain guard.
Ried won't allow Ali Al Ghanim to get back to his feet.
Ried is stalling in the full guard.
Ried wants to stand but Ali Al Ghanim has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ried closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ali Al Ghanim did well to prevent Ried getting side control.

Ried is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
