The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fiftyfive fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fiftysix tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Fiftyfive manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Fiftyfive stuffs the takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fiftyfive.
Fiftyfive has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Subject Fiftyfive. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fiftysix gets a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fiftysix tries to pull guard but Fiftyfive forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
Fiftysix has Fiftyfive pressed against the ropes, preventing Fiftyfive from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Fiftyfive tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Fiftysix has hold of one of Fiftyfive's legs. Fiftyfive is fighting the takedown attempt but Fiftysix gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Fiftysix postures up in Fiftyfive's guard and throws a big left but Fiftyfive blocks it.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Fiftyfive wants to sweep here but Fiftysix controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fiftysix is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fiftyfive swings for the body but Fiftysix moves out of range.
Fiftysix takes the fight into the clinch.
Fiftyfive stalling.
Fiftyfive jumps guard.
Fiftysix looking to sit in guard and control but Fiftyfive gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fiftysix wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Fiftyfive would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
