PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between gary steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hidosh Kakana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kakana has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Hidosh Kakana will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
steel drops Kakana with a nice combination! steel dives into Kakana's guard, looking to finish!

It looks like Hidosh Kakana has been cut.

Kakana has his foot on steel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. steel works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kakana tries to buck steel off but steel is having none of it.

steel is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kakana's shoulder. That is not cool.

steel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kakana on the ground.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with steel in particular looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
steel is keen to just control but Kakana is a slippery customer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kakana lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but steel circles away quickly and effectively.

steel had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kakana is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. steel Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kakana's back instead.
