Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Banner (ranked 480 p4p, 158 weight class) and Edward Conan (ranked 68 p4p, 23 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lamont Banner !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Conan!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conan just misses with a punch to the body.
Banner throws a right and a left that Conan avoids nicely.
Conan misses with a looping right.
Banner throws a leg kick that misses.
Conan takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A big right from Conan misses.
We've been told by Banner 's head coaches at Randall's Top Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Conan takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Conan works Banner 's body with a nice hook.
Banner misses with an uppercut.
Banner throws a looping overhand right but Conan ducks down to avoid it.
Conan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Conan fails to land with a series of punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Conan lands a jab to the head.
Banner takes one to the side of the head.
Banner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Conan misses with a hook.
Banner swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Conan takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Banner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Banner avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Banner moves away from the strike by Conan.
Banner misses with a wild combination.
Conan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

A little jabbing left from Conan on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Banner lands a big head kick that sends Conan tumbling to the mat! Banner takes a step backwards and waves Conan back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Conan is rocked!

It looks like Edward Conan has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Banner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Conan defends it easily.
Conan seems to have recovered his senses.
Conan distracts Banner with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Banner has his foot on Conan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Conan works his way back into a safe position though.

Banner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Conan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Conan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Banner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Conan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Conan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Banner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Conan has managed to get both his arms back between Banner 's legs - danger averted.

Banner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Conan defends well.
Conan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Banner is looking for a triangle but Conan pushes his legs off easily.
Banner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Conan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Banner 's head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Banner is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Banner has an active guard here but Conan has managed to pass into half guard.
Conan works his foot free and advances to mount.
Banner sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

That was a close round but I would say that Lamont Banner will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Banner lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Conan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Good standup being displayed there by Conan as he connects with a hook.
Conan scores with a sloppy right hand. Banner should have avoided that one.
Banner throws a hook but Conan blocks it.
Conan misses with a hook. Banner ducked under it nicely.
It looked like Banner was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Conan lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Conan lands a lovely overhand right.
Conan throws a hook to the side of Banner 's head but Banner sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Banner avoids the body shot from Conan.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Banner enables Conan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Banner manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Banner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Conan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Banner is not content to let Conan control the position.
Banner manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Banner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Conan defends it well.

Banner is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Conan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Conan has escaped and now he's on top!

Edward Conan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A quick step to the side and Banner tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Banner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
It seemed like Conan was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Banner takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Banner takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Banner is rocked!
Conan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Oh Banner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Banner walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Banner limp body while Conan jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Edward Conan!
