Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fontana shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ruthless manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Fontana thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Fontana is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ruthless escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fontana gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ruthless is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fontana is aware though and is defending well.
Fontana wants to control from the top but Ruthless keeps moving.
Ruthless wants to sweep but no luck.

Ruthless working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Fontana has passed into half guard!
Ruthless is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fontana is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ruthless doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fontana.

Fontana is working for a kimura but Ruthless is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fontana is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ruthless is just riding it out for now. Fontana eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Ruthless is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fontana wants to take a breather but Ruthless is having none of it.
Ruthless really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fontana. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ruthless has one foot on Fontana's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ruthless tries for a takedown but Fontana sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Fontana drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Ruthless wants to sweep but no luck.
