Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuei lands a front kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Klugman.
Klugman looking to control but instead Kuei has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Kuei tries to kick Klugman off in order to stand up. Klugman Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Klugman just content to control the position.

Klugman is trying to get an arm triangle but Kuei is defending well.
Kuei is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Klugman has just dragged him back down to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kuei is not content to let Klugman control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kuei stops Klugman from passing to mount.
Kuei's coaches at DK MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kuei uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Klugman has time to react.

It looks like Wolfhard Klugman has been cut.
Kuei lands with an uppercut that bounces Klugman off the cage and back into range.

Klugman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kuei as he jumps to the side.
Klugman has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Kuei closes this distance looking for a takedown but Klugman circles away.
Klugman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kuei throws out the jab.

and Klugman counters with a three punch combo that has Kuei backing up. Kuei nods at Klugman to acknowledge the strikes.

Klugman throws a sloppy head kick
and Kuei counters with a flying knee that drops Klugman! Kuei dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!

Shen Kuei was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
