PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Puzo (ranked 2023 p4p, 7072 weight class) and Dan Stratus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Puzo comes into the arena with Speak Softly Love blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puzo scores with a jab.
Stratus throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Puzo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Puzo jabs Stratus right on the nose. Stratus blinks but takes it well.
Stratus on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Puzo looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Puzo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A nice leg kick from Puzo, right into the meat of the thigh.
Stratus shoots for a double leg takedown but Puzo sprawls well. He's pushed Stratus's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Puzo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Stratus closes the distance but Puzo moves to the side
and Puzo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Puzo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stratus.
Mario Puzo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Stratus.

Stratus throws a head kick that misses
and Puzo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nice uppercut there from Puzo.
Puzo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Stratus on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Puzo. Puzo obviously looking to wear him down.

Puzo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Puzo dips to his left and cracks Stratus with an uppercut!
Stratus swings widly with a right hand
and Puzo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Puzo connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stratus. Stratus circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stratus misses with a head kick.
Puzo seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Puzo lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Stratus is rocked!
Puzo feints a jab and as Stratus dips his head, Puzo unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Stratus right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Stratus falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Puzo smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
