Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Suzuki Yen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Yen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to yo yo bye bye - Why?. Bob Smith has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Suzuki Yen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suzuki Yen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Smith! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith is looking to reverse the position. Smith wants to control but Yen postures up. Smith is looking for a sweep. Smith is not content to let Yen control the position. Yen works to advance to full mount. Smith defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Yen avoids the attempt from Smith to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Yen has a good base and remains in mount. Yen trying to control but he's not successful this time. Smith is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yen seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Smith is holding on tight.

Will Yen go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Smith really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Yen's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position. Smith rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Smith is looking for a sweep. Yen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Yen passes to full mount! Smith is squirming around, avoiding Yen's attempts to control the action. BOOM! Yen connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Smith tries to hold on but Yen pushes him away. Yen wants to take Smith's back here but Smith is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Yen is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Smith has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Yen working away from the top, dropping strikes. Yen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Smith hang on? Smith prevents Yen from taking his back. Smith is in all sorts of trouble here.
Smith bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Yen looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Yen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Yen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard. Yen works a leg free and moves into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Suzuki Yen dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Yen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yen off to one side. Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there. Yen tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control. Yen moves into full guard.
Yen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smith. Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Yen is retaining full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Yen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Yen preventing the sweep. Yen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Yen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Smith lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yen! Smith lands a nice shot to the head. Yen is desperately trying to improve his position but Smith has a good base and remains in mount. Yen is working hard here to advance position. Smith goes for an armbar but Yen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Yen. Smith has his foot on Yen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yen works his way back into a safe position though. Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Yen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Yen stands and throws Smith's legs to the side, diving into side control. Yen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smith is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yen trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom. Smith is trying to control Yen's posture but Yen avoids it. Smith is trying to improve his position. Yen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well. Yen working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Suzuki Yen dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
