Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Doc Hoya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Sampson. No joy for Hoya on that attempt.
Sampson digs a good body shot into Hoya's ribs.
Hoya really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hoya has a takedown stuffed.
Sampson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sampson works over Hoya's head and body with a nice combination.
Sampson cracks Hoya with an open hand slap.
Hoya shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sampson as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doc Hoya. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sampson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hoya napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hoya is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sampson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hoya some visible discomfort.
Oh Hoya is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big shot lands for Sampson! That's hurt Hoya! Will he recover? Sampson fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
