Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Shin Ii shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thompson but Thompson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Thompson shoots in and bounces Shin Ii off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thompson pushes Shin Ii away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Shin Ii gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Shin Ii shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Thompson is trying to defend but Shin Ii finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Thompson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shin Ii's guard.

In his post fight interview, Mi Shin Ii started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
