PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Lawyer (ranked 6098 p4p, 5204 weight class) and Jaxton Kidd (ranked 601 p4p, 542 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Anthony Lawyer has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Anthony Lawyer seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawyer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kidd shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lawyer's guard.
Kidd wants to pass the guard but Lawyer is keeping the position.

Kidd is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lawyer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lawyer has escaped and now he's on top!

Lawyer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kidd does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kidd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lawyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lawyer wants to sweep here but Kidd controlling him for the moment.

That was a close round but I would say that Anthony Lawyer will probably get the nod.

Kidd feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Kidd prevents Lawyer from moving into mount.

Lawyer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kidd keeps working.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Lawyer tries to close the distance and clinch but Kidd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kidd cracks Lawyer with a good jab.
