The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill misses with a takedown attempt

and Washington counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Washington has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hill after a bit of a struggle.

Hill has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Washington is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Washington's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Washington shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hill pinned against the cage. Hill gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Washington has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hill uses from the top position.

Washington really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Washington has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hill is working away from the top position though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Hill seems to be looking for submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hill fails with a takedown attempt.
Hill tries to score a power double leg takedown but Washington sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hill somewhat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

As Washington backs off Hill throws a huge counter combo but Washington manages to avoid it all.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hill shoots in for a takedown but Washington shows good takedown defense.
Washington displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hill.

Hill should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hill shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Washington sprawls well. Washington wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hill gets slowly back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Washington drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hill gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Washington is trying to pull guard but Hill turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Washington lands an uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Washington darts in looking for a takedown but Hill gets double underhooks and turns Washington into the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hill tries to close the distance and clinch but Washington swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Washington is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Let's hope that Hill has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Washington gets caught flat footed, as Hill shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Washington has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hill has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Washington escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Washington goes for a double leg but Hill avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hill continues to drive forward.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hill is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Washington to keep the fight standing.
