Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gman Writ (ranked 3479 p4p, 4798 weight class) and Dan Shaw (ranked 141 p4p, 171 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gman Writ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dan Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Writ as Shaw shoots in.

Writ closes the distance and clinches.

Shaw gets control of Writ's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shaw will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Writ wants to control from the top but Shaw keeps moving.
Shaw looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Writ is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shaw is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shaw has escaped and now he's on top!

Writ seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Shaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Shaw slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Writ is on top in guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Shaw pulls Writ in close to prevent any damage.
Writ works over Shaw with some ground and pound from guard.
Writ postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Writ might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Writ tries to free his leg and advance position but Shaw is retaining full guard.
Writ throwing strikes from guard but Shaw blocks nicely.
Shaw keeping moving, preventing Writ from controlling successfully.
Writ looking to pass the guard.
Writ working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Writ passes into half guard.
Shaw is holding on to half guard well.
Shaw is looking to escape.
Shaw is not content to let Writ control the position.
Writ thows a huge punch but Shaw dodges it nicely.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Writ wants to control but Shaw is keeping him busy.
Writ sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Writ tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Writ looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Writ maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Shaw could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Writ has cracked it and Shaw is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Writ!
