Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scotty DeGuardio (ranked 6775 p4p, 6820 weight class) and Rally Cross (ranked 585 p4p, 588 weight class). Scotty DeGuardio could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rally Cross's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scotty DeGuardio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rally Cross! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cross feints and as DeGuardio raises his hands in defense, Cross changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. DeGuardio wants to get back to his feet but Cross is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cross sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed DeGuardio's guard. Cross not doing much here.
DeGuardio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cross on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. DeGuardio wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeGuardio keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Cross stops DeGuardio from getting back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. DeGuardio scores with a head kick. Cross tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Scotty DeGuardio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. DeGuardio lands with a kick to the ribs.
The crowd cheers as DeGuardio lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cross doesn't seem phased though. Cross misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross has a takedown stuffed. Cross tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Cross misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A good leg kick by DeGuardio. Cross takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Cross is rocked! DeGuardio lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cross is looking to clinch but DeGuardio is avoiding it.
DeGuardio lands with a kick to the temple. Cross shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Cross is still on wobbly legs! Can DeGuardio finish him? Cross misses with a right hand and DeGuardio counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Cross badly! DeGuardio follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Cross out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as DeGuardio finished him against the cage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Scotty DeGuardio! Scotty DeGuardio was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
