Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Morientes (ranked 4671 p4p, 4298 weight class) and Rafael Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alejandro Morientes has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alejandro Morientes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rafael Dos Santos! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morientes shoots in but no luck this time. Dos Santos fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Dos Santos is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Morientes's half guard. Morientes trying to control from the bottom.
Dos Santos wants to pass the guard but Morientes is defending well. Morientes is looking for a sweep. Dos Santos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dos Santos is trying to control. Morientes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dos Santos works his way into full mount! We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dos Santos has eaten all the pies! Dos Santos sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morientes tries to hold on but Dos Santos postures up. Dos Santos trying to control but he's not successful this time. Dos Santos lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Morientes hang on? Morientes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Morientes tries to get out of the position. Dos Santos controlling the pace for now. Dos Santos looking to control but Morientes is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dos Santos controlling from mount. Morientes regains half guard. Dos Santos working Morientes over with strikes. Dos Santos is keen to just control but Morientes is a slippery customer. Still in half guard, Dos Santos seems content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Morientes wants to control but Dos Santos is keeping busy and won't allow it. Morientes is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Dos Santos is just content to waste time from the top position. Morientes takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Dos Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morientes swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dos Santos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Morientes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dos Santos circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dos Santos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morientes. As Dos Santos looks to move away, Morientes throws a big counter combo but Dos Santos just gets out of the way. Morientes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Dos Santos tries to score a body lock takedown but Morientes shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Morientes breaks the clinch.
Morientes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dos Santos napping and manages to drive through into side control! Dos Santos is looking to reverse the position. Morientes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dos Santos keeps working. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dos Santos gets back to half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rafael Dos Santos dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dos Santos. No luck for Dos Santos with that takedown attempt. Morientes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dos Santos tries to keep at a distance but Morientes has taken the fight into the clinch. Dos Santos looking to throw knees to the head but Morientes is blocking nicely.
Morientes can't find room to land a body shot as Dos Santos controls the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dos Santos trying to control the position but instead, Morientes has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dos Santos into the cage. Dos Santos tries for a takedown. No joy.
Alejandro Morientes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael Dos Santos.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morientes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dos Santos has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Dos Santos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Morientes. And Dos Santos tries to counter it with a takedown but Morientes pushes his down on his head and steps out. Morientes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dos Santos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Morientes sprawls well. Morientes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dos Santos gets slowly back to his feet. A punch combination from Dos Santos misses. Morientes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Morientes lands in his opponent's guard. Dos Santos has a closed guard, preventing Morientes from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Morientes wants to control from the top but Dos Santos keeps moving. Dos Santos trying to keep a closed guard but Morientes is proving a slippery customer.
Dos Santos wants to sweep but no luck. Dos Santos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos tries to stand and escape but Morientes actually recovers to full guard. Dos Santos stops Morientes from standing up. Morientes keeping moving, preventing Dos Santos from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dos Santos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Morientes wants to stand but Dos Santos is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dos Santos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Morientes is keeping the position for now. Morientes pulls Dos Santos in to control the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Dos Santos wanted to stand there but Morientes had control of the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Morientes moves into range and clinches up with Dos Santos. Morientes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dos Santos has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dos Santos misses with a knee to the head. Morientes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dos Santos smiles and moves away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Alejandro Morientes will probably get the nod. That's time! Morientes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Dos Santos feints and as Morientes raises his hands in defense, Dos Santos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Dos Santos trying to control but Morientes is working from the bottom. Dos Santos looking to sit in guard and control but Morientes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Dos Santos wants to stand up but Morientes is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morientes trying to control the position from guard on top but Dos Santos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Morientes landing some decent shots from guard.

Morientes looking to pass the guard. Morientes's corner is telling him to maintain position. Morientes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dos Santos is controlling Morientes's posture. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Morientes looking to score a takedown here. Dos Santos is defending well but Morientes drives through and ends up in Dos Santos's guard. Morientes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dos Santos on the ground. Dos Santos pushes a forearm under Morientes's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Morientes is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
