Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack McScramble (ranked 1769 p4p, 2669 weight class) and Yuri Gagarin (ranked 191 p4p, 290 weight class). Yuri Gagarin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack McScramble! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuri Gagarin! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gagarin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McScramble half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Yuri Gagarin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gagarin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McScramble circles away quickly and effectively. Gagarin fails to land with a series of punches.
Gagarin throws a looping overhand right but McScramble ducks down to avoid it. We've been hearing reports that McScramble has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Gagarin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. McScramble swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McScramble really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Gagarin misses with a two punch combination.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gagarin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McScramble's head. Gagarin misses with a wild body shot. Gagarin tries to keep at a distance but McScramble has taken the fight into the clinch. Gagarin tries to circle away but McScramble has him pinned against the cage.

McScramble is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gagarin will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Gagarin wants to control but McScramble postures up.
