Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benei Gillespie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Augustus Gadela!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gillespie fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gadela works over Gillespie's head and body with a nice combination.

Gillespie forces Gadela back against the cage and clinches.

Gadela manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Gillespie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gadela can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gillespie misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gillespie shoots in for a double leg but Gadela sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Gadela drives through and clinches with Gillespie against the cage.

Gadela escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gadela shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gadela showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gadela is looking for a kimura but Gillespie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gadela to get the leverage.

Gadela is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Gillespie as he works his way to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Benei Gillespie will probably get the nod.

Gillespie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gadela is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Benei Gillespie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Gadela is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gadela is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Gillespie dives into side control.

Gillespie goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gadela rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gillespie's guard! Nice work there by Gadela!

I would just about give that final round to Augustus Gadela.
I think Gillespie has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
