Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Williams (ranked 4641 p4p, 2199 weight class) and Viktor Volkov (ranked 526 p4p, 286 weight class). Volkov has chosen Kickstart my heart as his entrance music. The key to victory for Brian Williams has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Williams tries for a takedown but Volkov manages to get underhooks.
Volkov manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Williams is looking to break free of the clinch but Volkov has double underhooks.

Volkov is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Williams is defending well.
Volkov goes for a takedown attempt but Williams pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Williams is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Volkov pulls Williams in close to his closed guard and prevents Williams from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Volkov wants to stand but Williams is controlling his posture from full guard.
Williams has Volkov pulled in close to control his posture.
Volkov wants to get up but he can't break Williams's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Volkov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Volkov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Volkov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Williams's guard.

Volkov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Williams looks a forlorn figure.
