The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Canel is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Medrano!
Canel is working for a guillotine from mount but Medrano frees his head quite easily.
Medrano is squirming around, avoiding Canel's attempts to control the action.
Canel is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Medrano can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Canel has isolated one of Medrano's arms. Medrano looking to fight him off but Canel twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Maikel Canel spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
