Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Krutel (ranked 1614 p4p, 653 weight class) and Drax Bautista (ranked 189 p4p, 83 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Joe Krutel has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Joe Krutel seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Bautista cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Krutel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Krutel counters with a good low kick that Bautista was not able to check.

Bautista's coach down at Fetus MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bautista's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Bautista throws a hook but Krutel avoids it easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Joe Krutel will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Krutel drops Bautista with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bautista looks back up at him and smiles so Krutel waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Bautista's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Krutel lets loose with a powerful body kick. Bautista will feel that in the morning.
