The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Rinaldi tries to clinch but Augustus moves out of range.
Augustus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rinaldi is fending him off so far but Augustus persists. Nope, Rinaldi circles away and we're back to standing.

Augustus changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rinaldi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Augustus has hold of Rinaldi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rinaldi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Augustus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rinaldi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Augustus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rinaldi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Augustus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Rinaldi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rinaldi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Augustus is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Rinaldi frees his head nicely. Oh but Augustus has switched to an armbar! Rinaldi is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

DJ Augustus decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
