Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tefy Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nico Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tefy Machado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nico Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machado takes a swing at Ramirez's ribcage but misses. Machado looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ramirez is fending him off so far but Machado persists. Nope, Ramirez circles away and we're back to standing. Ramirez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Machado decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ramirez's guard. Ramirez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Machado pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ramirez is keeping the position for now. Machado missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Machado postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ramirez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Machado, into his guard. Ramirez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Machado's head. Machado can't keep his opponent in guard - Ramirez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Machado flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramirez is trying to control. Machado wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ramirez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Machado knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Machado might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Machado is not content to let Ramirez control the position. Machado manages to get to full guard.

Ramirez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ramirez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ramirez tries to score with some ground and pound. Machado controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Ramirez wants to control but Machado is keeping him busy. Machado gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ramirez wants to free his trapped foot but Machado is holding on for dear life with his legs. Ramirez is trying to control the action in half guard but Machado is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Machado looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ramirez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Machado actively working from the bottom here. Machado is breathing heavily. Ramirez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machado keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ramirez uses his free foot to push down on Machado's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Machado. Ramirez trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ramirez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Ramirez controlling his opponent. Ramirez wants to control the pace but Machado is squirming around nicely. Ramirez lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ramirez lands a heavy elbow. Machado is desperately trying to improve his position but Ramirez has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramirez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ramirez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Machado is looking to escape. A nice elbow there by Ramirez. Ramirez tries to control but Machado wriggling away. Machado working to try and regain half guard.
Ramirez looking to control but Machado is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Machado wants to hold on but Ramirez pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Nico Ramirez will probably get the nod. That's time! Machado's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ramirez feints and as Machado raises his hands in defense, Ramirez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Machado throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ramirez wants to stand but Machado has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ramirez wants to control from the top but Machado keeps moving. Ramirez lands a couple of digs. Machado has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ramirez should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Machado has tightened it up now! Ramirez should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tefy Machado!
