Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Rourke (ranked 4083 p4p, 4675 weight class) and Richard Gelvin (ranked 0 p4p, 448 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Rourke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard Gelvin! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gelvin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rourke scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Gelvin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rourke has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Gelvin looks to land a combination but Rourke avoids it well. Gelvin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Rourke tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gelvin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rourke somewhat. Rourke clinches. Rourke is trying to drag Gelvin to the mat but Gelvin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rourke can't get the takedown.

Rourke has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gelvin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Rourke biding his time, looking for the opening.
Rourke will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Rourke is breathing heavily. Rourke is not going to allow Gelvin to sit and survive in this position. Gelvin is really stuck here.

Rourke is trying to stick to Gelvin's back but Gelvin is turning into Rourke. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rourke's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gelvin. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gelvin stays in close to Rourke's body and controls the position.

Rourke gets in close and instigates a clinch. Rourke wants to take the fight to the mat but Gelvin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Gelvin misses with the head strike.

Rourke avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rourke shoots in but no luck this time. Gelvin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rourke. Gelvin is looking for the big counter here. Gelvin tries to clinch there but Rourke circles away.

That was a close round but I would say that Andrew Rourke will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Gelvin connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Gelvin shoots in and gets a takedown into Rourke's guard. Rourke manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Gelvin lands with a shot to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gelvin tries to clinch up. Rourke swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Rourke throws a good cross that connects.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gelvin trying to control from the bottom.

Rourke uses his free foot to push down on Gelvin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gelvin. Rourke wants to control the action but instead Gelvin gets a body lock and reverses into Rourke's guard! Nice work! Rourke keeping moving, preventing Gelvin from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gelvin looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Andrew Rourke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rourke gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gelvin to score an easy takedown into full guard. Rourke has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gelvin off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Richard Gelvin seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Rourke wants to take the fight to the mat but Gelvin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Rourke has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gelvin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Rourke. Gelvin is looking to regain half guard here but Rourke keeps moving and retains side control. Rourke decides to stand back up. Rourke steps back and let's Gelvin get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gelvin lands with a nice body punch. Gelvin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gelvin wants it to stay on the feet. Crunch! Gelvin slams his shin into Rourke's torso. Gelvin gets a takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gelvin throwing shots but Rourke is blocking nicely. Gelvin stalling. Rourke is trying to maintain the position but Gelvin is very close to passing his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gelvin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Rourke wants to get back to his feet. Gelvin is trying to control the action in half guard but Rourke is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Gelvin not doing much here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rourke closes the distance and clinches. Rourke tries for a takedown. No joy.
Rourke is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Gelvin jumps guard but Rourke turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Gelvin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rourke has him pressed against the cage. Rourke drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gelvin with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Richard Gelvin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rourke has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
