PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kreepee Krawlee (ranked 2763 p4p, 3772 weight class) and Crane Gilded (ranked 138 p4p, 0 weight class). Crane Gilded will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kreepee Krawlee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Crane Gilded!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gilded has managed to clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Gilded.
Krawlee tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gilded just stands there and leans against the cage.
Gilded effectively controlling the action here.
Gilded content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Gilded pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gilded throws a leg kick that is checked

and Krawlee counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Krawlee.
Krawlee sitting in guard here, content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Krawlee advances position into side control!
Krawlee controls the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gilded can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gilded wants to control but Krawlee postures up.
Krawlee is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Gilded wants to control but Krawlee postures up.
We've been hearing good reports from Krawlee's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Krawlee in side control, just content to control the action for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Gilded works Krawlee's body with a nice hook.

Krawlee throws a leg kick that misses.
Krawlee bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gilded wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Gilded closes the distance and pushes Krawlee back into the cage.
Krawlee wants a takedown.
Gilded wants to get back to striking at distance but Krawlee won't allow it.

Gilded breaks from the clinch.
Gilded stuffs the takedown attempt from Krawlee. Krawlee gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kreepee Krawlee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gilded fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Krawlee avoids it really well and circles away.
Krawlee shoots in but no luck this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gilded throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Gilded's corner calls for a 1-2. Gilded obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Gilded lands with a nice body kick.

Krawlee shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Krawlee tries to pass to full mount but Gilded defends it.
Krawlee stalling.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Crane Gilded dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gilded moves in looking to clinch but Krawlee pushes him off.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Krawlee is defended easily by Gilded.
Krawlee fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Krawlee.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kreepee Krawlee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gilded misses with a low kick.

and Gilded counters with a one-two to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gilded lands the left hand.
Gilded displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Krawlee.
Krawlee fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A little jabbing left from Gilded on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Gilded darts in and clinches Krawlee up against the cage.

Gilded breaks from the clinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gilded.

Krawlee shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gilded napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gilded is letting Krawlee control him for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gilded struggling a bit here.
Krawlee controls the position from side control.
Gilded tries to improve position but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Krawlee tries to move into full mount but can't pass Gilded's legs.
Krawlee works to advance to full mount. Gilded defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Krawlee content just to control the position here.
Krawlee has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Gilded tries to hold on but Krawlee postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gilded is trying to reverse the position but instead Krawlee has taken his back - oops!
Good control from Krawlee.
Gilded can't escape the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Krawlee biding his time, controlling Gilded.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Crane Gilded will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Krawlee moves out of range as Gilded throws a body kick.
Crane Gilded seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Krawlee shoots in and drives through. Gilded sprawls well.
Gilded throws a leg kick

and Krawlee counters with a shoot takedown. Gilded fights it but they end up in guard.
Krawlee stops Gilded from standing up.
Krawlee sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Krawlee pushing down on Gilded's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Krawlee works his foot free and advances to mount.
Gilded keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Krawlee controlling from mount.
Gilded wants to hold on but Krawlee pushes him away.
Kreepee Krawlee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Krawlee controlling his opponent.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Krawlee.
Krawlee wants to take Gilded's back here but Gilded is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Krawlee tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Krawlee continues to hold on tight.
Kreepee Krawlee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gilded wants to hold on but Krawlee pushes him away.
Krawlee controlling from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Crane Gilded is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
Kreepee Krawlee showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Gilded has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
