Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Heard (ranked 3817 p4p, 4651 weight class) and Darth Sophus (ranked 448 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Darth Sophus was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Heard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Darth Sophus! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sophus dives in and grabs Heard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Heard pushes down on Sophus's head and hops out. Sophus looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Heard has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Sophus is on him like a limpet, forcing Heard back against the cage. Sophus has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Heard avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Heard prevents the takedown attempt.
Adam Heard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darth Sophus. Sophus tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Heard just stands there and leans against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Heard managing to block the knees to the body from Sophus.
Heard has picked Sophus up - he's going for a ride! Heard dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sophus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Heard pulls his head out easily. Sophus tries to roll over but Heard keeps him under control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sophus can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heard with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Heard prevents Sophus from improving his position. Heard controlling the pace. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sophus wants to control but Heard passes into side.
Heard is staying tight to Sophus's torso, preventing him from escaping. We've been hearing good reports from Heard's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Heard stands up and beckons Sophus to his feet. Sophus has his takedown stuffed and Heard counters with a takedown into side control. Heard has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Sophus shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Heard as he avoids it easily. Sophus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sophus. Sophus keeps the fight on the outside. Sophus gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Heard keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sophus's head. Sophus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Heard defends it easily. Heard wants to pass the guard but Sophus is keeping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Heard engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Sophus wants to sweep but no luck. Sophus looking to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Heard is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Heard dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Heard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sophus sprawls well. Sophus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Heard gets slowly back to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Heard. No joy for Sophus on that attempt. Sophus closes this distance looking for a takedown but Heard circles away. Heard wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Sophus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Heard throws a right hand that Sophus ducks under and follows up with a left that Sophus also avoids with ease. Sophus shoots in looking for a takedown. Heard tries to sprawl out of it but Sophus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Heard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Adam Heard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darth Sophus. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sophus stuffs the takedown attempt from Heard. Heard gets slowly back to his feet. Heard tries to clinch up but Sophus circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heard tries to close the distance and clinch but Sophus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sophus looks for a takedown but Heard sprawls well. Heard feinted with a counter takedown. Sophus has managed to clinch.
Sophus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Heard shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sophus's guard. Sophus looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Heard puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Heard is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sophus sees it coming and defends easily. Sophus is looking for a sweep. Heard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sophus tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Sophus wants to control but Heard is keeping busy.
Adam Heard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Heard is figuring out what he wants to do next. Sophus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Heard with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sophus is trying to maintain the position but Heard is very close to passing his half guard. Heard keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Heard working Sophus over with strikes. Sophus is trying to stand.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Heard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Heard works his way into side control. Sophus is looking for a sweep. Sophus is being controlled here. You can see the frustration on Sophus's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sophus forces Heard back against the cage and clinches. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sophus is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Heard to keep the fight standing. Sophus stalling against the cage.
Heard tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Heard dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Sophus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Heard throws a sloppy head kick and Sophus moves out of range easily. Sophus closes the distance and clinches. Heard jumps guard and drags Sophus to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Sophus wants to stand and escape but instead Heard has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Sophus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Heard is aware though and is defending well. Sophus is trying to control the position but Heard postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sophus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Heard is in close to Sophus's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heard works over Sophus with some ground and pound from guard. Heard keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sophus's head. Heard seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Heard chips away with some ground and pound. Sophus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Heard stands up from Sophus's guard - Heard perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Heard shoots in and drives through. Sophus sprawls well. Sophus misses with a takedown attempt - Heard sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sophus has a takedown stuffed. Adam Heard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darth Sophus. Sophus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sophus shoots in but Heard avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sophus looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Heard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sophus tries to sprawl but Heard drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heard passes into side control, despite Sophus's attempt to control the position.
You can see the frustration on Sophus's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sophus manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Heard is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sophus tries to hold on but Heard pushes him away. Sophus tries to improve his position but instead Heard has taken his back! Heard has got one arm under Sophus's chin. This could be trouble... Sophus trying to control the other hand but Heard gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Sophus has tapped out! The fight is over!
