Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Drew DW (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Polaski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Polaski is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drew DW!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Polaski!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Polaski closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Polaski lands in his opponent's guard.
DW keeping moving, preventing Polaski from controlling successfully.
Polaski looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

DW is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Polaski postures up.
Polaski wants to control from the top but DW keeps moving.
Polaski content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Polaski throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

DW has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Polaski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Polaski lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as DW backs up against the cage.

DW gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Polaski.
Polaski is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Drew DW has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Polaski.

DW tries to score a body lock takedown but Polaski shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

DW is pressed up against the cage. Polaski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag DW down to the mat. DW avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

DW makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Polaski looks to land a body kick but DW moved away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but James Polaski will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Polaski tries to close the distance and clinch but DW swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Polaski throws an elbow but it misses.

Polaski pulls guard successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as DW accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
DW stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Polaski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

DW has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Polaski is trying to control the position from the bottom.
DW wants to pass the guard but Polaski is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and DW counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Polaski fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
DW is looking to improve his position but Polaski isn't that keen on the idea.
DW flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Polaski lands a big shot there that rocks DW but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Polaski sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drew DW dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Polaski lands with a nice combination. DW backs away looking to recover.
Polaski tries to bum rush DW with a series of wild strikes but DW uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and DW counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Polaski's guard now.

Polaski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. DW doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. DW manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
DW postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Polaski throws a series of punches but DW avoids them all with ease.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Polaski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with DW but DW pushes him off and we're back to square one.

And that's the end of the fight!
Drew DW showed his dominance in that final round.
I think DW has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
