Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shigeru Uchida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Keizo Kasai!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uchida connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Shigeru Uchida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Kasai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kasai swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kasai swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Uchida.
Kasai throws a right and a left that Uchida avoids nicely.
Uchida is looking to chop away at Kasai's legs.

Uchida thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kasai if he has to take too many more of those.
Uchida misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kasai.
A head kick by Uchida misses

Kasai throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Uchida stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kasai uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Uchida.
Kasai's coach down at JAG Battle Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kasai's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Uchida plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Kasai tries to bum rush Uchida with a series of wild strikes but Uchida uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Uchida throws a sloppy head kick and Kasai moves out of range easily.
Kasai darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Kasai bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Uchida is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Uchida throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kasai lands a glancing blow to the side of Uchida's head.

Uchida is rocked!
Kasai fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Uchida on the side of the head.
Oh Uchida is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Uchida tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kasai misses with a two punch combination.
A looping hook to the body misses from Uchida. Kasai does a little dance to reset his feet.
Uchida seems to have got his legs back now.
Uchida throws a body punch but Kasai moves out of range.
Kasai keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Uchida throws a quick inside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kasai lands a left and a right that send Uchida crashing to the mat, dazed. Kasai thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Uchida get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Uchida stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the ropes but Kasai runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Keizo Kasai!
Keizo Kasai was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
