The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Costa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Costa has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Weudke is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Costa scores with a couple of nice shots.
Costa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weudke keeps working.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Weudke slaps away a takedown attempt from Costa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Costa backs off Weudke throws a huge counter combo but Costa manages to avoid it all.

Costa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Weudke is trying to defend but Costa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Costa is stalling here. Weudke is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Costa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Weudke has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Weudke in particular looking to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Costa shoots in but no luck this time.
Weudke takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
