Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Murray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick O Teene! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Teene shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Murray but Murray pushes him off and we're back to square one. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from O Teene. Murray looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for O Teene! O Teene tries to hold on but Murray pushes him away. O Teene manages to regain half guard. Good work. Murray lands strikes from half guard. Murray landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. O Teene looking for submissions from an awkward position here. O Teene gets full guard. Murray stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. O Teene swivels though and keeps the full guard. Murray has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. O Teene looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round. Murray controlling from the top position. Murray passes O Teene's left leg - he's now in half guard. Murray working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Still in half guard, Murray seems content to control. Murray wants to free his trapped foot but O Teene is holding on for dear life with his legs. Murray prevents O Teene from improving his position. Murray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for O Teene on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Teene is pressing down on Murray's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Murray is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. O Teene looking for a guillotine here but Murray defends easily.
Murray slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Murray looking to pass the guard. O Teene striking off his back but it's not causing Murray any problems.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murray scoring with some ground and pound. Murray content to stall in guard here. Murray stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. O Teene swivels though and keeps the full guard. O Teene wants to control the position but Murray says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. O Teene looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Murray stalling. O Teene looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. O Teene is looking to control Murray's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can O Teene avoid being mounted? Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Murray in particular looking to stall. Murray wants to pass to mount but O Teene is defending the position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Frank Murray dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Murray shoots in and bounces O Teene off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Murray stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. O Teene swivels though and keeps the full guard. O Teene looking for a guillotine here but Murray defends easily.
Murray is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. O Teene is looking for a triangle but Murray pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Murray pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. O Teene is keeping the position for now. Murray lands a couple of decent looking shots. Murray content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Murray works over O Teene with some ground and pound from guard. O Teene keeping full guard, as Murray tries to pass. Murray avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Murray wants to pass the guard but O Teene is keeping the position. Murray is working hard here to advance position. O Teene had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Murray is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. O Teene Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Murray's back instead. Murray trying to control but not successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. O Teene is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
O Teene is trying to stick to Murray's back but Murray is turning into O Teene. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in O Teene's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Murray. O Teene being controlled here, momentarily. O Teene looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. O Teene is looking for a sweep. Murray is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. O Teene has hold of Murray's hands but Murray slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Murray seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. O Teene is trying to get back to full guard. O Teene looking for submissions off his back. Murray sitting and controlling from the half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Murray dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The referee stands the fighters back up. Frank Murray just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. O Teene gets caught flat footed, as Murray shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Murray is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. O Teene has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Murray can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. O Teene has his foot on Murray's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Murray works his way back into a safe position though. Frank Murray overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murray content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. O Teene working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Murray doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Murray manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. O Teene isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Murray stacks O Teene on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Murray! Murray controls the position from side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. O Teene looks to move to half guard but instead Murray has passed into mount! Damn!
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Murray showed his dominance in that final round. Well Murray has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
