Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helio Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barry Kingsmill!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingsmill throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silva half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Silva moves out of range as Kingsmill throws a body kick.
Silva feinted with a counter takedown.
Silva has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kingsmill is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
Silva tries to counter with a takedown but Kingsmill is quick to defend against it.
Kingsmill is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kingsmill wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kingsmill tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kingsmill is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Kingsmill tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Silva holds on and takes a little breather.
Kingsmill has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kingsmill pushes down on Silva's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Silva is concentrating on defense, preventing Kingsmill from advancing position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silva makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Silva.
Silva has his hands on Kingsmill's head, controlling the position.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Silva pulls Kingsmill in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kingsmill can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Silva isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kingsmill stacks Silva on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kingsmill!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Silva seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Silva moves nicely into side control.
Kingsmill is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kingsmill is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Silva's half guard.
Kingsmill takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Silva slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kingsmill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Helio Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Barry Kingsmill is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Helio Silva.
Well Kingsmill has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
