Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Krisko Kurtev (ranked 1886 p4p, 2251 weight class) and Oscar Oscarsson (ranked 248 p4p, 298 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Krisko Kurtev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Oscarsson! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Kurtev has Oscarsson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Oscarsson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Kurtev wants a takedown but no success here.
Kurtev has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Oscarsson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Krisko Kurtev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kurtev jumps guard but Oscarsson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Kurtev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Oscarsson is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Oscarsson is not content to let Kurtev control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. An elbow from Kurtev crashes against the mat.

The referee takes a look at Oscarsson to see if he's OK. Oscarsson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kurtev is controlling him well. Kurtev throwing strikes but Oscarsson manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Oscarsson decides to stand back up. Kurtev walks straight into an uppercut. Oscarsson cracks Kurtev with an uppercut from hell and Kurtev crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Oscarsson's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Kurtev is rocked! Oscarsson wants to stand but Kurtev is controlling his posture from full guard. Oh Kurtev is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Oscarsson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kurtev, up you get! Kurtev moves out of range of the strikes. Kurtev seems to have got his legs back now. Kurtev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

This has been an exciting period of action! Kurtev shoots and misses and Kurtev takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Kurtev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oscarsson as he jumps to the side. Kurtev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Oscarsson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Oscarsson gets to his feet - Kurtev follows without any prompting. Oscarsson feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Kurtev crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
