Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Padraig Sullivan (ranked 4636 p4p, 4919 weight class) and Kris Shumway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shumway throws a combination that misses
and Sullivan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A jab lands there for Sullivan.
Sullivan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shumway to score with a decent uppercut.
Shumway connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Sullivan has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sullivan there as he acknowledges the shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A looping hook to the body misses from Shumway. Sullivan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Shumway bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sullivan's head backwards.

Shumway is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Shumway ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sullivan moves away.
Shumway connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sullivan. Sullivan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Shumway throws a looping overhand right but Sullivan ducks down to avoid it.

Shumway scores with a hook to the body. Sullivan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Shumway doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Shumway throws a body punch but Sullivan moves out of range.
Shumway missing with a left hand there. Sullivan was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Sullivan counters with a crisp one two that drops Shumway! Sullivan thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Shumway to his feet! Shumway is in big trouble!

Shumway is rocked!

Shumway backs away from a small jab... but Sullivan lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Shumway crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Sullivan with a spectacular finish!
