Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asai misses with a straight left.
Mayer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Asai throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mayer is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Mayer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Asai .
Asai lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Asai bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Asai stalks Mayer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mayer's face. Mayer staggers backwards, shaken.
Asai keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Asai looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Asai tries to score with a low kick but Mayer moves his leg out of the way.
Nice straight punches there by Mayer. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mayer.

Mayer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Asai napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mayer has hold of Asai 's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Asai tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mayer cranks the arm and Asai screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Asai , who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
