PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Probert (ranked 4341 p4p, 4340 weight class) and Rokken Roll (ranked 450 p4p, 447 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Probert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rokken Roll!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Probert takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Probert swings for the body but Roll moves out of range.
Probert rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Roll moves into the clinch.
A short left from Probert.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Probert tries a body shot but Roll blocks it.
Probert works on Roll's body with a couple of short punches.
Roll is struggling to control the position.

Probert escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Probert throws a shot to the body.
A jab from Probert misses.
Probert sets himself, and Roll steps forward looking for the clinch! Probert avoids it this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Probert throws a jab when Roll was well out of range.
Roll moves out of range of the strikes.
Probert throws a jab but it's blocked by Roll.
Roll ducks under a wild hook from Probert.
Probert tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Roll was well out of range. Poor timing from Probert.
A punch lands to the side of Probert 's head but he takes it in his stride.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Roll looks to land a left hand but Probert moved out of range nicely.
Probert throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Roll counters with a straight right hand.
Probert throws out a loose jab but Roll uses good head movement to avoid it.
Roll displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Probert throws out the jab.
Roll bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Roll instigates a clinch.
Roll displaying some good clinch control by pressing Probert up against the cage.
Probert wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Probert has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Probert tries to circle away but Roll has him pinned against the cage.
Roll swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Roll softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Roll has a couple of punches blocked by Probert.
Probert is trying to break free.
Probert lands a right hand that snaps the head of Roll backwards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Probert lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Roll.
Roll misses with a body punch.
Roll misses with a hook from the clinch.
Roll just leaning against Probert, taking a breather.
Probert blocks a body shot from Roll.
Roll has a couple of punches blocked by Probert.
Probert misses with a hook to the ribs.

Probert breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Probert throws a lazy right hand but Roll sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Probert scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roll takes one to the side of the head.
Probert throws an overhand right that lands on Roll's shoulder, as Roll tries to avoid the shot.
Probert looks to score with a jab to the body but Roll is just out of range.
A jab lands there for Roll.
Roll tries to clinch but Probert is having none of it.
Probert looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Probert misses with a hook
enabling Roll to counter with a crisp jab.
Probert throws out a loose jab but Roll uses good head movement to avoid it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bob Probert.
I think Probert has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
