Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Edgy Brah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ellis Rowards!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rowards shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rowards showed some decent athleticism there.
Rowards thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Brah makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Brah clinches up with Rowards and pushes him back against the cage.

Brah breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Rowards shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brah is trying to defend but Rowards finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rowards drops an elbow to the side of Brah's head.
Rowards tries to stand and escape but Brah is controlling the position.

Rowards is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Rowards is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Brah knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rowards wanted to stand there but Brah had control of the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Brah scores with the left hand. Rowards knows he should have avoided that one.
Rowards misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Rowards looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Rowards walks into a jab.
We've been told by Brah's head coaches at Triple XXX that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rowards accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Brah has his foot on Rowards's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rowards works his way back into a safe position though.
Brah pulls Rowards in to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Brah has managed to clinch.

Rowards blocks a jab.
Rowards tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Brah is able to avoid easily.

Brah clinches up with Rowards and pushes him back against the cage.

Brah's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ellis Rowards is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Brah throws a good cross that connects.

Rowards darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Brah tries to get to full guard but Rowards has control of the leg.
Brah might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rowards is looking to take a break and control but Brah is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Brah manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Rowards keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Rowards has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brah is proving hard to escape from.

Brah is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Rowards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rowards cracks Brah with a big right hand but Brah just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rowards thows a huge punch but Brah dodges it nicely.

Brah has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rowards is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Rowards pulls guard successfully.

Rowards had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brah defends it easily.
Rowards is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rowards looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Brah stands up and waves to Rowards to follow him.

I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
