Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jin Yi (ranked 3567 p4p, 1697 weight class) and Jim Beam (ranked 466 p4p, 232 weight class). Yi comes to the cage accompanied by Wobble. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jin Yi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Beam! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beam tries to score with a low kick but Yi moves his leg out of the way. Yi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beam sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yi somewhat. Beam is looking to clinch but Yi is avoiding it.
Beam throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Beam scores with a leg kick.
Beam misses with a hook. Yi ducked under it nicely. Beam closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Yi misses with the head strike.
Beam lands a hook to the side of the head. Yi misses with the head strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yi can't get the takedown.
Beam is trying to pull guard but Yi turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Yi makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Beam is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Beam breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've been informed that Beam has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Yi takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beam goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Yi clobbers Beam with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Beam misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Beam throws a sloppy head kick and Yi moves out of range easily. Beam misses with a straight left. Yi staying out of range there. A nice inside leg kick there by Beam. That's going to slow Yi down. Yi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Beam scores with a shot to the body.
Beam gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Yi to score an easy takedown into full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Beam pulls Yi in close to his closed guard and prevents Yi from doing any damage or advancing position. Yi wants to pass the guard but Beam is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yi wants to control from the top but Beam keeps moving. Beam working for a triangle but Yi defends it easily.
Yi postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Yi trying to control but Beam is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Yi's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Yi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Beam is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Yi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beam swivels though and keeps the full guard. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Yi advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beam lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. Yi is looking for a kimura but Beam is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Yi to get the leverage. Yi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Yi is trying to control. Beam wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Yi in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Beam tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Yi!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jin Yi! A very excited looking Jin Yi made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
