PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Test Seventeen (ranked 4834 p4p, 5917 weight class) and Test Sixteen (ranked 485 p4p, 547 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sixteen is looking to clinch but Seventeen is avoiding it.
Seventeen dives in and grabs Sixteen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sixteen pushes down on Seventeen's head and hops out.
Sixteen swinging wildly here.
Seventeen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Seventeen tries to close the distance and clinch but Sixteen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Seventeen gets tackled into the cage by Sixteen. Sixteen maintains the clinch.

Sixteen pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Seventeen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Seventeen stays in close to Sixteen's body and controls the position.
Sixteen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sixteen trying to control the action but Seventeen is working from the bottom.

Sixteen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Seventeen is just riding it out for now. Sixteen eventually gives up the hold.
Sixteen prevents Seventeen from improving his position.
Seventeen trying to control but Sixteen postures up.
Sixteen is looking to take a break and control but Seventeen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Seventeen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sixteen on the ground.

Sixteen seems to be looking for submissions.
Sixteen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Sixteen seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Seventeen is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
