Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Timothy Peterson (ranked 4452 p4p, 4897 weight class) and Jesus Christ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timothy Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Christ!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christ stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Peterson.

Peterson has managed to clinch.
Peterson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Christ looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Christ had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Peterson defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Christ controls Peterson momentarily but Peterson frees himself.

Christ bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Peterson's guard.


Christ got a little sloppy there for a moment and Peterson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Christ has managed to get both his arms back between Peterson's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Christ might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Peterson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Peterson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Christ eats them both and turns towards Peterson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Christ has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Peterson seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Christ can turn it around.

Jesus Christ showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Christ is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jesus Christ is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Christ postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Peterson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Christ, into his guard.

Peterson tries to free his leg and advance position but Christ is retaining full guard.

Peterson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Christ is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
