Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brock Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barra Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brock Mir has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Fire shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mir as he avoids it easily. Fire shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mir but Mir pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fire looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Fire looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir controls Fire momentarily but Fire frees himself. Fire stays in close to Mir's body and controls the position. I looks like Fire might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Despite being in the dominant position, Barra Fire just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Horrible takedown by Fire or perhaps it was just good defense by Mir which made him look bad. Brock Mir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barra Fire. Mir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fire fails with a takedown attempt. Fire keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Fire misses with a takedown attempt - Mir sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Fire looks gassed! Mir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fire tries to avoid it but Mir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fire to the ground. That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Fire happy to just control the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mir tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mir sneaks back into half guard. Fire is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fire was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fire content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barra Fire dominated that round. That's time! Mir's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Fire shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mir's guard. Fire stays in close to Mir's body and controls the position. Fire wants to pass the guard but Mir is keeping the position. Fire controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Fire passes into half guard. Mir is pressing down on Fire's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Fire's corner is telling him to maintain position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir keeping moving, preventing Fire from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mir lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Mir tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fire swats him away and circles back towards the center. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fire. Brock Mir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barra Fire. Mir shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fire counters with a takedown into side control. Mir wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Fire slows the pace down. Fire working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fire is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mir's shoulder. That is not cool. Mir might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mir is not content to let Fire control the position. Mir regains half guard there - taking advantage of Fire's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Mir wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Well, if Fire is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Barra Fire showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Mir misses with a head kick.
Mir shoots in but no luck this time. Good leg kick by Fire there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Fire. Mir is letting Fire control him for a moment. Mir wants to control but Fire postures up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Fire taking a breather here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir tries to bench press Fire off him but Fire keeps the position. Fire moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Horrible takedown by Fire or perhaps it was just good defense by Mir which made him look bad. Mir with a poor takedown and Fire counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mir's guard now. Fire controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barra Fire is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Fire's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Barra Fire has got the better of the ground game so far. Fire wants to control from the top but Mir keeps moving. Fire seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Brock Mir has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
