Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Connor Boyd (ranked 4537 p4p, 23328 weight class) and Brett Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nixon has chosen Throw it on me as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Connor Boyd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Brett Nixon! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nixon stuffs the takedown. Nixon throws a series of strikes that have Boyd backpedaling.
A head kick by Nixon misses and Boyd counters with a lovely straight right hand! Boyd shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Boyd darts in looking for a takedown but Nixon gets double underhooks and turns Boyd into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Connor Boyd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boyd wants to take the fight to the mat but Nixon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Boyd is working for takedown but Nixon is calmly controlling the position for now. Boyd is trying to break the clinch but Nixon is controlling him. Nixon controlling the action here for a moment.
Boyd tries to score a body lock takedown but Nixon shows good agility there to stay on his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nixon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nixon fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boyd is looking to counter the offense by Nixon and move into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. No joy there for Nixon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Boyd will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Boyd with a lazy takedown attempt and Nixon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nixon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Boyd on his heels. He'll look to pass Boyd's guard now, I'm sure. Boyd has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Nixon off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Nixon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. It looked like Boyd was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Sloppy strikes from Nixon. Those never looked like landing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nixon scores with a hook to the body. Boyd takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Nixon closes the distance and clinches. Nixon wants to take the fight to the mat but Boyd manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Nixon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Boyd smiles and moves away.
Boyd tries to clinch but Nixon moves out of range. Nixon appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boyd darts in and clinches Nixon up against the cage. Boyd is defending well against a takedown attempt. Nixon looks winded! Boyd throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Nixon blocks it with crossed arms. Boyd has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Nixon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Nixon is trying to get back to his feet but Boyd has full control of the position and if anything, Nixon has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. What can Nixon do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Nixon wants to get back to his feet. Boyd has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Nixon is defending well but eventually Boyd manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Nixon has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
