Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edgy Brah (ranked 2668 p4p, 894 weight class) and Lu Wai Ping (ranked 281 p4p, 112 weight class). Brah's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Dropped by Smoke Serpent. Edgy Brah had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edgy Brah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lu Wai Ping! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wai Ping throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brah tries to clinch there but Wai Ping circles away.
Wai Ping is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Brah with a body shot. Brah closes the distance and clinches. Wai Ping tries to break free but Brah pushes him back against the cage. Wai Ping is trying to break the clinch but Brah has him pressed against the cage. Brah tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wai Ping smiles and moves away.
Wai Ping throws a leg kick but Brah sees it coming and moves out of range. Wai Ping defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Brah. Wai Ping lands the left hand. Brah scores with a jab to the head.
Brah shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wai Ping defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edgy Brah. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wai Ping avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brah keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wai Ping. Brah misses with a body shot.
Wai Ping throws out a leg kick but Brah moves out of range and Wai Ping only half commits. Wai Ping works the jab nicely. Brah cracks Wai Ping with a good jab. Brah tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Brah. Brah moves into the clinch successfully.
Brah pulls guard. Brah is looking for a triangle here but Wai Ping uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Brah is trying to control Wai Ping's posture but Wai Ping avoids it. Brah is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Wai Ping off and has taken his back! Brah has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Wai Ping has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
We've been hearing good reports from Brah's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Brah working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Brah looking for the RNC.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brah is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Wai Ping has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Brah is looking for a choke. Wai Ping gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Wai Ping manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brah has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wai Ping can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Brah looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wai Ping has picked Brah up and slammed him! Brah can't keep hold of the triangle and Wai Ping manages to pass to side control! Brah tries to buck Wai Ping off but Wai Ping is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brah manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Brah is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wai Ping is just riding it out for now. Brah eventually gives up the hold. Brah is looking to advance position but Wai Ping won't allow it. Brah is working for a submission of some sort.
Brah is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Wai Ping as he works his way to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wai Ping keeping moving, preventing Brah from controlling successfully. Wai Ping seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Wai Ping keeping full guard, as Brah tries to pass. Wai Ping pulls Brah in to control the position. Brah is looking to advance position but Wai Ping has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Brah is looking to get to half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Edgy Brah will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Brah takes a jab right on the kisser.
A slow jab from Wai Ping misses its intended target. Brah throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Brah scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wai Ping in his tracks. Wai Ping stuffs the takedown. Wai Ping lands a nice shot that snaps Brah's head back.
Wai Ping thuds a left hand into Brah's body. Brah darts in trying to clinch and Wai Ping counters with a left to the body. Brah has managed to clinch.
Brah tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Brah jumps guard but Wai Ping stands there with Brah around his waist. Brah gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edgy Brah. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brah on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Brah is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wai Ping to keep the fight standing. A nice left hand lands by Wai Ping.
This has been an exciting period of action! Wai Ping pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Wai Ping throws a jab but it's blocked by Brah.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brah keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wai Ping throws a quick inside leg kick. Brah missing with a left hand there. Wai Ping was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wai Ping. Brah looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Brah stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wai Ping swivels though and keeps the full guard. Brah trying to control but Wai Ping is working from the bottom. Brah is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wai Ping is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Brah forces his way into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brah looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Brah is working for a submission of some sort.
Wai Ping slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brah sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wai Ping's guard. Brah is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Wai Ping still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Wai Ping has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Brah can't do much from the bottom here. Brah is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Brah is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Wai Ping's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brah has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wai Ping is working away from the top position though. Brah actively working from the bottom here. Brah looking for submissions off his back. Brah is trying to maintain the position but Wai Ping is very close to passing his half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brah gets back to full guard.
Brah wants to hit a sweep here but Wai Ping passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Brah there! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lu Wai Ping showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Brah staying out of range there. Brah scores with a punch to the head. Wai Ping lands a lovely overhand right. Brah throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wai Ping sees it coming and avoids it easily. Good shot there by Brah. Brah looks to score with a jab to the body but Wai Ping is just out of range. Wai Ping stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wai Ping wants it to stay on the feet. Wai Ping with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Brah to score with a decent uppercut. Wai Ping blocks a head kick by Brah.
Brah lands with a good body shot. Brah takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Wai Ping lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! Wai Ping lands a knee to the head.
Wai Ping lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Brah backwards. A nice right hand lands inside from Wai Ping. Wai Ping lands a nice elbow. Wai Ping cracks Brah with a nice body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Wai Ping. Brah is trying to pull guard but Wai Ping has him pressed against the cage. Wai Ping cracks Brah with a nice body shot. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Brah blocks an elbow strike from Wai Ping.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edgy Brah. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brah blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Lu Wai Ping seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Brah jumps into guard, dragging Wai Ping to the mat.
Brah looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Brah escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wai Ping gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Brah looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wai Ping passes into half guard.
Brah is looking to control Wai Ping's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brah avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brah looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Brah actively working from the bottom here. Brah wants to get back to full guard. Brah wants to control but Wai Ping is keeping busy.
Wai Ping prevents Brah from improving his position. Brah is trying to control but can't.

Brah wants to improve his position but Wai Ping is controlling well.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Brah looking for subs from the bottom but Wai Ping mounts him! Brah is desperately trying to improve his position but Wai Ping has a good base and remains in mount. Wai Ping sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Wai Ping prevents Brah from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brah wants to control but Wai Ping is having none of it. Wai Ping controlling from the full mount. Wai Ping's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that's the end of the fight! Lu Wai Ping comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Wai Ping has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
