Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Bina Raga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kris Porzingis!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porzingis throws a right hand that Raga ducks under and follows up with a left that Raga also avoids with ease.
Sloppy strikes from Porzingis. Those never looked like landing.
Porzingis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Raga paws at him with a jab and circles away.
It looked like Raga wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Raga moves into the clinch.
Raga is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Raga has had enough of the clinch but Porzingis keeps him there for the moment.
Raga wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Raga is trying to push Porzingis away but Porzingis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Raga breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Porzingis misses with a few strikes there.
Raga went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Porzingis is defended easily by Raga.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Raga shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Porzingis's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Porzingis looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Porzingis keeping moving, preventing Raga from controlling successfully.
Our spies down at at whitey's gym inform us that Porzingis has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Raga stays in close to Porzingis's body and controls the position.
Raga trying to control but Porzingis is working from the bottom.
Raga with a nice head shot there.
Porzingis has his hands on Raga's head, controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Raga stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Porzingis has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Raga manages to get his head free but now Porzingis has transitioned to an armbar! Raga grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Porzingis! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kris Porzingis!
After winning the bout, Kris Porzingis thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
